take it easy

One of my last days in LA was spent walking around West Hollywood discovering the (not that great) shopping. What I do love about that area is the character and personality, and of course, the unbeatable weather.

It got a little warm for the vest, but it completed the look! I love mixing and matching different tones of denim throughout one outfit. And I really miss LA weather.

slide away

Ever have one of those moments where you have 2 items that you haven't worn in months, and all of a sudden the thought of layering them together is genius? That brought a new life to both of these pieces, a dress I would rarely wear because the 'tight dress thing' reminds me of the Kardashians and everything tacky that goes along with them - and a kids tee that I bought for $2 as a sleep shirt when I was living in the city. Who woulda thought?

Pair that with a statement necklace and some bright oxfords and you've got yourself a new favorite look. I was giddy as could be all day because I loved the outfit I was wearing so much!

bad news baby

A last minute layering session with a sheer top and a dress (that is a little too formal for my daily wear) turned out to be one of my favorite looks in a long time. The neutral and feminine color palette is complimented black details on a beautiful LA day turning chilly for the evening. I can definitely see this being a staple outfit in the long run.

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself with it gets too warm for over the knee socks - I also never thought a winter accessory would be one of my favorite things to wear! I love these darlings so much.

v cafe

The white pants rule has been long overruled by the fashion industry, and the beautiful California weather only makes that rule seem even more silly. A casual workday in LA was a part of this white on winter white look, and while I didn't think much of this outfit while getting dressed, I got tons of compliments! It helps that this is the most comfortable outfit ever.

When I lived in Ohio, white pants were out of the question. Embrace those whites, Midwest! Now is the time - spring!

marioland

As I'm sitting in a cold Starbucks just outside of Toronto, I don't think I've ever missed LA more. The warm weather allowed me to wear cute little dresses in January and February... I now see why I used to feel seasonal depression living in Ohio at that time of year.

I like to call this my ballerina outfit, because, well, look at it! This pretty pink dress from Target says nothing other than "please wear cute little flats with me and spin around in circles!". So I did that. Many times. I felt like a princess in this dress - more than I do on a daly basis. :)

The green plants are also another LA favorite of mine, I think they were taken straight out of my Super Mario games and planted around Los Angeles to make me feel like Princes Peach on that particular day.

coming up roses

Leather pants! Something that I never thought I could pull off, yet trends have evolved to allow me to wear these beauties and not feel like I belong at a metal concert or on a stripper pole. At least that's what I thought in middle school when I saw a lady in leather pants. I also shopped at Wet Seal back then... so that doesn't say much.

Folks in LA didn't seem the care that I was running errands to Target in leather pants, so that was pretty rad. I could wear these pants all the time. Guess what? They're from H&M, so they were hella cheap, too.
