My favorite quote, that I love so much I had tattooed on me, pretty much sums up who I am. "Roots and Wings" means to know where you came from and always stay grounded, but spread your wings and follow your dreams. I'm so excited for my future - the remainder of 2013 is going to be such an amazing adventure and I cannot wait to see what the outcome of these next few months will be. I have such incredibly bright people in my life, and it's going to be so wonderful to watch them change the world.
This look was from a rainy night while having dinner with my sister. We ended up getting a little goofy at a bar after talking about creepy high school teachers and getting free shots of whiskey - not bad sister time if you ask me!
Pairing a neutral floral with a bright color is alright in my book - as well as combining a pattern with a texture (something I hope to do a lot of with home decor soon)!

I love a thrift store jackpot. This shirt dress is perfect for the season and the colors are some of my favorites right now. The light floral print isn't too dated and the fit is so relaxed and flowy - I couldn't wait to wear this piece!
I had been waiting to wear these thigh high tights for quite a while, and this dress was the perfect companion for these darlings. The lilacs and mid-May in Ohio can be the best inspiration for a good outfit! Since I've been in Ohio, spending time outside has been a priority (among some other exciting things I'm putting together) and nature has been a source of relaxing for me. Nothing beats knowing that the weather is only going to get warmer from here!

My sister has become quite the blog photographer (and I'm very excited about this) as we have been spending a lot of time going on adventures together. Ohio, when it decides to warm up, is so beautiful. You don't really appreciate how lush and full of life it is until you've lived in a city made of concrete and another city next to the desert. There really is nothing like Ohio, so I'm glad I'm here for a little bit.
On the day of this look, my mom, sister, and I headed out to a farmer's market to make a delicious dinner for my father's birthday! It was chilly out, a little too cold for this look, but I didn't care too much.
