we'd waste our weeks beneath the sun

I just went on a mini holiday to California a couple of weeks ago. I have to admit, a year ago I would have preached my little heart out that Los Angeles was the worst city in the country and that I wouldn't step foot there. Since then, I've visited the city 4 or 5 times in the past year and my mind has done a complete 180. I love LA - yes, I said it - I absolutely adore LA.

Along with the typical LA stops, I spent some time in Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach - I can't believe people live in this paradise and I wonder why I'm not living there right now. Truthfully, Los Angeles has rudely stolen a piece of my heart, and I know I'll have to move there one day (soon). Shh...

I had the most wonderful brunch at a place called Sugar Shack in Huntington Beach. The French Toast was unreal. The day was followed by too many $3 mimosas (you can't find that in NYC) and Sunday football.

Another thing that's grown on me? Yes, football. What has the world come to?

A simple look - pants and a tee - can really come to life with a monochromatic color block and some layered statement necklaces. Pink on pink with a pop of yellow? Yes, please!

If you saw my last brunch related post with the black & white high waisted jeggings, you'll see that pant style trending with me often. The high waisted jeggings from H&M are just perfect for me (and cost effective at just $12!).

Top: Forever 21
Silver Necklace: Forever 21
Yellow Necklace: Charming Charlie
Jeggings: H&M
Flats: Target

CUTE! Love the necklace combo-- and is the title a Jack's Mannequin reference? If so, I like ;)

haha i def don't love LA but I think that's because the urban sprawl just reminds me a lot of the Phx area where I'm from. although I do love many of the beaches - i think I've been to this very one in fact!! glad you enjoyed your time! Lovin' the red w/ those amazing pink pants here!

Also I've never been to California, but I'm already in love with it!
