a modern mix-up

Mixing prints - whether it be stripes, florals, polka dots, or plaids - is all the rage right now. Not only is it easy to pull off, but its something you can do with a majority of your existing wardrobe, making it easy on your pocketbook.

If you haven't seen from past posts, I got a rad deal on little boys' plaid shirt form The Childrens Place, and they fit like a charm. I've been pairing these little guys with just about everything I can think of, and the latest concoction is a stripe dress from an unknown boutique that never fit right. I solved another problem right there - utilizing something that I never wear! It fit funny and the top wasn't very flattering. With a plaid shirt layered over top and knotted, it turned into a whole new dress!

Top: The Children's Place
Earrings & Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Gabriel Brothers

Your make up looks beautiful.
I want your shoes.
And I wish I could pull of plaid like you do.

haha I would never be able to fit into anything from the children's place. I do love that this look is "all the rage" because I'm a broke college student so my philosophy is "the cheaper the better."

You look great though! thanks for this lovely post:)
